Did you know
that the
difference
between
where you
are today
and where
you’ll be
five years
from now is
two main
factors? 1)
the books
you read and
2) the
people you
associate
with. Now
think about
it: what
books have
your read?
And what
kinds of
people have
you
associated
with over
the last
five years?
They have
determined
your current
situation.
Why are
books and
people you
associate
with so
important?
Because the
ideas,
thoughts,
feelings and
energy you
receive from
them are
like food
for your
mind and
spirit. In
the physical
world you
are what you
eat.
Likewise it
is with your
mental
development.
If you want
a better
future five
years from
now begin
associating
with
positive
people and
reading
positive
books today. |

This life that you have is
wonderful. However, many
people are not living in
joy. They find themselves
under control and
constraints and judging and
judging other people.
There’s a better way to live
than negative energy. Find
your joy. Find peace. Be
patient. Have a plan and
work your plan with
persistence. And you can
have more of what you want. |

Everybody’s talking about
knowledge and skills as if
it is the end all and be
all. It takes knowledge and
skills just to make the
team. But that doesn’t make
you a player and doesn’t
guarantee that you get into
the game. It’s your
attitudes and habits that
make you successful in your
work and in life. Because
attitudes are habits of
thought and internal
feelings that drive your
behaviors. Pay attention to
your attitudes. Keep them
positive. And turn them into
positive behaviors. Those
habits will ensure you
results. |

This life is a journey and
you came here to make a
specific contribution.
However, some of you have
decided that maybe you can’t
accomplish what you really
want to accomplish. The
inactivity has created self
doubt and fear. Change that
inactivity into a plan and
action. The activity that
you take toward your dreams
and goals will give you more
self-confidence. |

There’s a secret in life
that many people have
overlooked. That is that you
have a choice in how you
respond in every moment.
Whatever shows up in your
life is there either to lead
you to your higher good or
to teach you a lesson.
Complaining and criticizing
won’t help you learn the
lesson. However, if you
accept it and use the lesson
in a positive way, it will
drive you to be what you
want to be. |

We’ve come to learn that
there are universal laws
that are operating all the
time. You could say to me
that gravity doesn’t exist,
but it’s always there, isn’t
it? One universal law to
focus on in this moment is
that “like begets like.”
Whatever you put your
attention on, your emotions
and your thoughts, you will
in fact attract to you the
likeness of those energies.
Pay attention to how you
feel. Strive for a feeling
that gives you some relief
and you will live with more
joy. |

Have you ever thought that
the key to success was
knowledge and skills?
Everybody talks about
needing mad skills.
Unfortunately, skills and
knowledge only take you so
far. Everybody knows how to
loose weight, diet and
exercise, but we all don’t
do what we know. So the key
to your success is
developing positive
attitudes and then turning
those attitudes into habits
and behaviors that will help
you get what you want. |

Skills and
knowledge
are
everywhere.
But
attitudes
and goal
directed
behavior are
the fuel to
change your
results.
Have you
written down
specific and
measurable
goals for
all areas of
your life?
To have
balance
you’ll want
goals in
your
spiritual,
mental,
physical,
financial,
career,
family, and
social
development
areas.
Remember the
difference
between a
goal and a
dream is
that a goal
is written
down.
Otherwise
it’s just a
dream. And
that dream
might turn
into a
nightmare.
Write your
goals,
create your
actions, and
go for it! |

We live in a
world that’s
constantly
changing.
Yet, we are
afraid of
change. We
want
everything
to stay the
same.
Because
there’s a
lower part
of you –
your ego –
that likes
things the
way that it
is and likes
things the
way they
were in the
past. How
can you get
to your
future if
your present
moment is
filled with
thoughts and
feelings
from your
past? Be
aware, pay
attention to
how you
feel. Then
choose to
feel
something
positive
that will
drive you
toward the
future that
you want. |

Have you ever wanted to
reach your potential but
weren’t sure how to go about
it? The critical element to
improve your results is
positive behavior change.
Everyone knows that, but we
don’t always do what we know
we should do. We’ve been
conditioned to resist, fear,
or deny change. Yet, we live
in a time where change is
the only constant. To change
your behavior you’ll want to
address your attitude,
skills, knowledge, and
goals. |

What strategy are you using
for your growth and
development? Many people
have used a strategy of
trying to increase their
weaknesses. But by further
developing your weaknesses,
sometimes you can become
mediocre in a lot of
different things. Here’s an
alternative approach. Focus
on your strengths! Find what
you are good at and then
pursue your goals through
those talents and strengths.
This will help you have more
energy and achieve more of
what you want. |

Do you have the life
that you want? Do you know
how to get the life that you
want? We’ve found that the
key to improving your
results is changing your
behavior. And the key to
behavior change is
attitudes. If you don’t have
the results that you want,
then look at the behaviors
that you’ve been doing. Then
look at the attitude that’s
been driving those
behaviors. Change those
attitudes and your behaviors
will change. And you will
have more of the results you
want in your life and
business. |

Monthly Book Review

Bruce McArthur, Your Life…Why
It Is The Way It Is and What
You Can Do About It:
Understanding The Universal
Laws.
A.R.E. Press: Virginia
Beach, VA, 1993.
This is a marvelous book for
anyone wanting to change
their life through
understanding and applying
universal laws. McArthur
uses the work of Edgar Cayce
and biblical references to
communicate universal
concepts. He begins by
explaining what universal
laws are and how they affect
your life. He defines
universal laws as “an
unbreakable, unchangeable
principle of life that
operates inevitably, in all
phases of our life and
existence, for all human
beings and things,
everywhere, all the time.”
These laws facilitate the
operation of all aspects of
life to provide you what is
needed for your highest
good. These laws support the
universal concept of
infinite love that is
available to every human
being and creature.
McArthur then links
universal law to various
stages of transformation.
Our life is what it is based
on our use of these laws, in
the positive or negative.
Thorough explanations of the
law of attraction (like
begets like) and the law of
cause and effect provide
clarity into why your life
is as it is. You have
literally attracted your
current life situation
through the use or misuse of
these laws. A lot of the
misuse of these laws has to
do with the ego personality
of the human being which
shows up as judgment,
complaining, blaming,
fault-finding, and other
negative attitudes. These
attitudes are energies that
attract more of the same in
kind. The positive use of
the laws is explained as
application of spirit or the
higher self within each of
us.
The author connects the use
of additional laws with the
example of planting seeds
and growth through nature’s
processes. These seeds are
explained as high level
attitudes and values that
express spirit and soul in
the positive. Consequently,
these laws are part of the
process and power of
creativity toward fulfilling
one’s destiny. He offers the
concepts of Truth, Love,
Law, and God and the
integration of all four as
the ultimate “master” law of
transformation.
In the second half of the
book McArthur asks and helps
you focus on the most
important questions of: Who
are you? Why are you here?
What is the purpose of your
life on earth? The book
discusses spirit,
consciousness, will and how
to apply universal laws. He
offers numerous exercises to
help you apply the laws of
self, service, equality, and
priority. Lastly, it
provides exercises to help
you consciously shift
negative patterns of
attitudes and behaviors into
positive – spirit based
patterns. These exercises
will improve your focus and
assist you in making the
right choices for your self
and contribution within your
life purpose. |

Thank you, Shevell, for inspiring us
with your words.
A Soul
A Soul is an Essence
A Soul lifts us to a higher level
A Soul can open new doors and close
old ones
A Soul teaches us that words are
powerful
A Soul can give you confidence to
push through the fear
A Soul is a higher spirit
A Soul is our Essence
